Facility Leader: Joycelyn Burks, Facility Director

Joycelyn Burks was named Facility Director at the Corpus Christi Transitional Center in January 2026.  Burks has spent her career working in corrections, reentry and community‑focused programs. She has held a wide range of roles, from case management and administrative coordination and leadership positions. She is a member of the CoreCivic CLEAR program and previously served as the assistant facility director at Dallas Transitional Center where she supported day‑to‑day operations, guided staff development and led compliance and audit readiness efforts. She began her career in community housing services, spending a decade managing multi‑county residential programs and building strong partnerships with agencies and stakeholders.
