Facility Leader: Douglas Fender, Warden
Douglas Fender was named warden at Lake Erie Correctional Institution in March 2019. Previously, he was warden at Marion County Jail II. Fender joined CoreCivic in 1998 as a correctional officer and worked his way up the ranks to senior correctional officer, assistant shift supervisor, shift supervisor, assistant chief of security, chief of security and assistant warden, before becoming warden at Crossroads Correctional Facility. Fender has also served as a member and commander of the Special Operations Response Team at several CoreCivic facilities.
