Shawn Wead, Warden

Facility Leader: Shawn Wead, Warden

Shawn Wead was named warden at Saguaro Correctional Center in July 2021. Previously, he was assistant warden at Central Arizona Florence Correctional Complex. Wead joined CoreCivic in 2004 as a correctional officer at formerly CoreCivic-managed Florence Correctional Center, where he also served as senior correctional officer and assistant shift supervisor. He was promoted to shift supervisor at Eloy Detention Center. In 2015, he was promoted to assistant chief of security at Central Arizona Florence, and later to complex chief of security.

Community Activities

Relay for Life Run; The City of Eloy Chamber of Commerce, The City of Casa Grande Chamber of Commerce, the Angel Tree for local Children, Eloy Chamber of Commerce and donate, soldier support.
