This graduation season, we recognize the hard work of staff and inmates at our La Palma Correctional Center in Eloy, Arizona. Principal Yolanda Fernandez-Carr and her staff help both English- and Spanish-speaking inmates earn high school equivalency diplomas, sometimes starting all the way from the elementary education level. The Spanish-language diploma teaches inmates in their own language, making it easier to develop new skills in English, and giving them the opportunity to find employment in their native countries.
