Hobby Craft Program Provides a Positive Outlet for Residents in Mississippi

Studies have shown crafting and creating pieces of art impacts mental health in a positive way. In fact, a recent study published in the National Library of Medicine revealed crafting actually reduces the level of the stress hormone cortisol in the body. At CoreCivic's Tallahatchie County Correctional Facility in Tutwiler, Mississippi, residents are given the opportunity to participate in a Hobby Craft Program where they can work with everything from leather to beading and more.
