Comprehensive and Compassionate Health Care

CoreCivic | 7/10/26 6:49 AM

CoreCivic is committed to providing comprehensive health care to individuals in our care at every facility. Services include access to primary, emergency, dental and mental health care, among others. Each site is staffed by a multidisciplinary team of registered nurses, nurse practitioners, physicians, dentists, psychiatrists and specialists who are dedicated to providing compassionate and dignified care to every patient they serve.

CoreCivic's Health Services team is guided by a mission to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to the unique needs of individuals in correctional environments. Emphasis is placed on prevention, early intervention and whole-person wellness to improve outcomes and support successful reentry into the community. Our health care professionals are deeply committed to serving underserved populations and are grounded in the belief that everyone deserves access to care regardless of circumstances.

Care delivery is patient-centered and quality-driven, supported by routine audits, performance metrics, patient satisfaction tools and collaboration with external health care accrediting organizations. The goal is to ensure that every patient receives personalized, evidence-based care aligned with the specialized standards of correctional medicine.

Recognizing that many incarcerated individuals face challenges related to addiction and mental health, CoreCivic's Health Services team takes a multidisciplinary approach that includes counseling, medication-assisted treatment, peer support programs and connections to community-based resources. Providers focus on addressing root causes while supporting long-term recovery and rehabilitation.

All services are delivered with clinical rigor and respect. This includes timely medical evaluations, trauma-informed mental health care and coordinated support from an interdisciplinary team operating within a medical home model to ensure continuity of care.

Health Services also plays a critical role in preparing individuals for successful reentry by addressing physical and mental health needs, promoting wellness and self-management and connecting patients with community resources. Through this work, CoreCivic remains dedicated to ensuring every person in our care is treated safely, humanely and with dignity.
