CoreCivic has updated its Privacy Policy for California residents.

A Secure Detention Facility Held to the Highest Standards

Our California City facility operated as a detention facility beginning in 1999 and previously housed detainees for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as well as from the United States Marshals Service (USMS). We are once again housing federal detainees to meet the immediate needs of our government partners to include USMS and ICE. As a long-standing member of the community, it’s important to us that the people of California City hear directly from us about the facility—what it will mean, what it won’t mean, and our commitment to continue listening.

Proven, Dependable Partner: CoreCivic has been a long-time partner in California City, going back more than 25 years. We couldn’t be prouder of being a valued part of this community.

Local Economic Benefits: CCIPC serving as a partner to ICE will create about 500 new, good-paying jobs and generate over $2 million in property taxes to the city that could be used for schools, infrastructure and other community priorities.

Oversight and Accountability: Our facility will operate with strong oversight and accountability from our government partners, including regular audits and onsite monitors. Both our company and our government partners share a deep commitment to humane care.

Safety, Security and Quality: Our top priority is the safety of the people in our care, our staff and the community. In addition to our own high standards for quality, we are contractually required to uphold rigorous federal detention standards.
