As students return to the classroom, CoreCivic employees across the country are stepping up to help them have a successful school year. Several facilities hosted or participated in back-to-school supply drives to help ensure students have the supplies they need.

From backpacks and clothing to pencils and notebooks, these efforts reflect CoreCivic’s ongoing commitment to supporting students, schools and local communities.

Here’s how CoreCivic facilities nationwide participated in the back-to-school season this year.

In Florence, Arizona, staff at Central Arizona Florence Correctional Complex hosted a back-to-school supply and clothing drive, collecting more than 1,000 items for local elementary school students.

In Eloy, Arizona, staff at Eloy Detention Center held a school supply drive to support Florence Elementary School.

In Las Animas, Colorado, staff at Bent County Correctional Facility participated in a back-to-school supply drive, donating items to a local school.

In Olney Springs, Colorado, staff at Crowley County Correctional Facility hosted a Stuff-the-Backpack school supply drive to support children at four local schools.

In Millen, Georgia, staff at Jenkins Correctional Center participated in a back-to-school supply drive and giveaway, supporting at least 75 students with backpacks filled with essential school supplies.

In Nicholls, Georgia, staff at Coffee Correctional Facility donated backpacks filled with school supplies to City Hall to support its annual back-to-school event.

In Leavenworth, Kansas, staff at Midwest Regional Reception Center collected and donated supplies and backpacks for local students.

In Cushing, Oklahoma, staff at Cimarron Facility held a back-to-school supply drive to support students at a local elementary school.

In Brentwood, Tennessee, staff from CoreCivic’s headquarters supported the United Way Stuff the Bus campaign, helping more than 16,000 Middle Tennessee students start the year with backpacks full of supplies.

In Clifton, Tennessee, staff from CoreCivic’s South Central Correctional Center prepared and provided food for a back-to-school night at a local school.

In Houston, Texas, staff at Houston Processing Center held a school supply drive and giveaway for local children returning to school.

In Taylor, Texas, staff at T. Don Hutto Detention Center collected and donated school supplies to the local school district.
