More than 300 residents at CoreCivic's Trousdale Turner Correctional Center tuned in to a message of hope and transformation delivered by Tim Tebow. The event, organized in collaboration with Tennessee prison ministry Men of Valor, highlighted the influence of faith and redemption within the incarcerated community.
“The visit by Tim Tebow was a powerful and uplifting experience at our facility," said Allen Beard, warden at Trousdale Turner. "His message of faith, hope and perseverance deeply resonated with all in attendance. We are grateful for the Men of Valor and our chaplaincy for organizing this amazing event.”
The event, featuring the former quarterback who led the University of Florida to two National Championships, Heisman Trophy winner, NFL Quarterback, and philanthropist, took place October 1 in Trousdale Turner's gymnasium, where residents were welcomed with worship songs performed by the resident-comprised house band. Tebow followed with a powerful talk centered on the importance of faith and personal transformation.
"I thought it was really inspirational, and I believe it was definitely God-felt and that God led Tim Tebow to speak," said Charles Vasser, an incarcerated individual in attendance at the event. "I believe he is doing God's work. Hopefully, God willing, I will be able to do the same thing. The Snickers candy bar and Gatorade were not bad either."
"Humbled to share the Gospel and the hope of Jesus, who meet us right where we are," Tebow said. "My prayer is that everyone left with stronger faith and a closer walk with Christ."
