Virtual Reality Program Gives Cutting Edge, Hands-On Opportunity in Montana

Residents at CoreCivic's Crossroads Correctional Center in Shelby, Montana, can explore hundreds of different career fields and even earn industry-recognized certifications through virtual reality (VR). CoreCivic has partnered with Transfr VR to provide this new program, which features state-of-the-art VR headsets that guide participants through an initial training before helping them discover which career paths they are interested in pursuing.

Transfr VR offers training for more than 100 high-demand careers, with hundreds of VR simulations in areas including construction, utility work, medicine and more. The simulations include workplace safety training, including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards as well as National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) standards.
