Residents at CoreCivic facilities joined–or will join–in the graduation season celebration—earning college diplomas, GEDs, vocational certificates, and other educational milestones that mark a turning point in their rehabilitation journeys. Across the country, justice involved individuals are proving that growth and success can happen anywhere—even within the walls of incarceration.
Arizona
At Red Rock Correctional Center, residents graduated with a GED or vocational certificate.
California
At Boston Avenue, two residents graduated from the Money Smart for Reentry program; seven residents graduated from the San Diego College of Continuing Education: ECC Workforce Partnership Apprenticeship Readiness program; and one resident graduated with a college diploma from Pitzer College.
At Otay Mesa Detention Center, three residents graduated from CoreCivic's Go Further program and eight residents from a victim impact program.
Colorado
At Crowley County Correctional Facility, residents graduated from Reboot Recovery, a program dedicated to helping incarcerated military veterans work through combat-related trauma.
Florida
At Citrus County Detention Facility, 30 residents graduated from various behavioral health programs.
Georgia
At Coffee Correctional Facility, more than 70 residents are expected to graduate in July with vocational certificates in welding or diesel mechanics, a GED, or college diploma from Ashland University.
Kentucky
At Lee Adjustment Center, more than 100 residents graduated from CoreCivic's Go Further program, 30 residents graduated with a vocational certificate in fuel education or carpentry, and many more residents are expected to graduate with a GED this summer.
Ohio
At Lake Erie Correctional Institution, more than 70 residents graduated with either a GED, vocational certificate, or college diploma from Ashland University.
At Northeast Ohio Correctional Center, residents graduated with a GED or vocational certificate.
Tennessee
At Hardeman County Correctional Facility, 20 residents earned high school equivalency certificates, nine residents earned vocational certificates in carpentry, 29 residents completed the Career Exploration Course program, and 10 residents graduated from the Divine Trinity Outreach Addiction and Recovery program.
